What is this site all about??
This site is an on-line tool to create anaglypgh images from your basic digital photos. Afterwards, they can be viewed by using 3-D goggles (two "lens", one cyan, one red), and you will re-live your precious moments in all 3 dimensions.
Great, but how does it work?
Anaglyph images are created by combining two normal pictures. The whole idea is to simulate what each eye sees, and to mix the two resulting channels to create a 3-D optical ilusion. When the two pictures are uploaded, their color palletes are modified, making the "left eye's" image red, and the "right eye's" image blue + green = cyan, and they are sticked toghether in a new image. When you use the goggles, the red "lens" cancels the blue and green channel, and makes the red channel look normal, and viceversa. Basically, you simulate what each eye would normally see. I like it, what do I do next?
The first thing you need to do is to make your mind on what to photograph. Next, you grab your digital camera. IMPORTANT! You need to put the camera on a steady flat surface, or on a tripod. Now you take the first picture. Then, you move the camera about 8 cm (3.1 inches) to the left, also spinning it about 10 degrees to the right. It is highly important that the camera stays at the exact same height, and that the subject doesn't move AT ALL. Next, you download the pictures, you open your browser, and go directly to http://stereo3d.adpeach.com. Then, you browse for your pictures, click the Generate! button, wait for the process to be completed, put on your 3-D goggles, and enjoy!
I don't like it, what do I do next?
Well in that case, the only nice thing to do is to make a POLITE comment using the available ShoutBox system. Of course, if it takes more than 20 seconds to load, that means it is not operational. It's not my fault. Blame them. Also you could check periodically for updates that might suit your taste.
